Job Corps Field Trip This Week
On Friday, April 12th we are planning a visit to the Job Corps facility here in Tucson. Job Corps is a federal program that does FREE job training for low-income students aged 16 to 24. Job Corps also provides housing, food, basic medical care, books and supplies, a living allowance, training clothes, driver's license classes, help with job placement, and a community of caring supportive staff. They can even help with child care while you are training. Did I mention they provide all of this for FREE to their students? Students are not required to live on their campus if they do not want to.
We will leave Pantano at 9:15 am and return by 12:45 pm. Please bring a snack and water as we will not be able to provide a meal during this trip. If you would like your student to join us on this field trip, please fill out this permission slip for your student, or if you are a student 18+ years old you may fill it out yourself. Plus, it is a great way to get off campus for the day and see what life after high school might look like.
